A 28-year-old man was thrown about 30 meters when he was run over on Sunday night (5/15), in Formiga, in the Midwest of Minas. A security camera recorded the moment of the accident.

The images show the victim crossing Avenida Guiomar Garcia Neto, in the center of the city, when she was hit by the vehicle. The man is thrown into the air and, according to witnesses, falls about 30 meters away. The location is close to the bus station.

The victim was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). When the team from the Advanced Support Unit (USA) arrived at the scene, he was conscious, but confused and with a suspected cervical spine fracture. There is no risk of death.

The driver fled without rendering assistance. He abandoned the vehicle, an Audi A3, at Ponte Alta and went home.

The Military Police (PM) managed to identify the 26-year-old suspect. He was found at his home and initially denied involvement. He stated that he was not even aware of any “traffic accident”.

“After continuous and dedicated work, the author was arrested and the vehicle seized. The case was elucidated and the person responsible was presented at the police station”, informed the PM.

Also according to the police, the driver showed no signs of intoxication, however, as he fled, the National Driver’s License (CNH) was collected. He was arrested.
