Volta Redonda - After a massacre that killed four people on Wednesday night (7), in the Açude neighborhood, in Volta Redonda, dozens of military and civil police have occupied the area since Thursday morning (8), including the aid of an armored vehicle of the Military Police, the “Caveirão”. According to the security authorities, the crime would be linked to a drug trafficking dispute in the area, which would be the area of ​​activity of the criminal group Comando Vermelho (CV).
According to the record of the military police who accompanied the occurrence - still on Wednesday night, around 7 pm - the garrison was called by Ciosp (Integrated Center for Public Security Operations) to verify a homicide that would have occurred in a bar on Rua Alderman Acácio da Rocha, at Açude I. Arriving at the scene, the police found the four men already dead - three of them on the street and one inside the establishment. Forensics were called in, removing the bodies, and the case was registered at the 93rd Police Station (Volta Redonda), where it is still under investigation.
The victims were identified by the PM as Bruno da Silva de Oliveira (known as Charuto), 19 years old, and without criminal notes; Uaderlon Ribeiro da Cunha, alias Delon, 29 years old, with notes for personal injury and record of someone else's child; Joel França Basílio, 26 years old, with a criminal record for bodily injury; and Davi Batista Gomes, known as Paulista, whose criminal record could not be verified.
The command of the 28th Battalion of the PM released a note at the end of the morning about the operation. Check it out in full:
"In retaliation for the actions of criminals in the region, with the support of the Command of the 5th CPA (Area Policing Command), the Command of the 28th BPM, broke out in the early hours of the morning of this Thursday (8), a major operation focused on arresting and inhibiting the action of criminals, in addition to restoring the tranquility of the good population, guaranteeing public safety. The
main focus of the action is the Açude neighborhood in Volta Redonda, where the previous night the murder of four people near a bar. Every operation has the participation of several teams composed of officers and soldiers, in addition to the reinforcement of an armored vehicle provided by the 5th CPA."
