In the early hours of morning, around 2AM, emergency services of the small town of Slaughter, LA recieved a 911 call from Shelia and Clay Fletcher, parents of Lacey Fletcher.

According to the parents, all they told the 911 operator was that their daughter "wasn't breathing" but when authorities arrived at their house, what they found was truly the stuff of nightmares.

As she had been pronounced dead, called to the scene was was the coroner, Dr. Ewell Dwitt Bickham III a longtime coroner and doctor was called to the scene.

When he arrived on scene, Around him, were the first responders, who were just in a daze, the parents were to the right in the kitchen, and the smell, he described as "the smell of a sewer, a septic tank, and the smell of death" he wasted no time. To the left, on the living room sofa, lied The now deceased Lacey Fletcher

Not only was she dead on the sofa, but the condition of her body was enough to even traumitize the coroner, who'd been in the profession for thirty years. Lacey was naked, aside fdom a small grey shirt, she was covered in Feces and urine. It was all over her body, all over her face, even under her fingernails and in her ears. She weighed no more than 96 pounds at the time of her body being discovered. Her legs were covered in bed sores, rotted so bad that not only did it rot the skin, but it rotted all the way down to the bone.

As the coroner put it "Her legs had become so immobile from not being moved, that they stiffened, and they stayed that way. And Lacey's body was like that in that position because she was in so much pain, that she was trying to lift her body out of that hole."

During the autopsy, it was shown that she was so starved, that in her stomach, was some small mint type candies, and yellow sofa foam covered in feces and urine.

After all that had been seen and studied, it was declared that she had not moved from that spot on the sofa for twelve years.
