Frontera, Coahuila, Mexico, February 27 — 7-year-old girl was seriously injured after a Belgian Malinois attacked her in the yard of her home.
The child was playing near the dog when it suddenly lunged at her, bit her on the head, and knocked her to the ground.
She was taken to a hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery. Due to severe scalp injuries, doctors placed 68 stitches. Her condition is now reported to be stable.
The family initially decided to euthanize the dog, but later changed their decision. The dog will not be put down and will instead be put up for adoption.
