Houston, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department has taken three suspects into custody in connection with a shooting in which a 17-year-old Aldine ISD student was shot and killed outside a McDonald's in north Houston on Thursday.
The Houston Police Department confirmed that the fatal shooting occurred on 185 West Road near the North Freeway just after 3 p.m.

Cell phone video captured the shooting. On Thursday after school, they were across the street at neighboring fast-food restaurants when the video shows the victim and his friends approaching the shooter’s truck as it sat in the drive-thru line at McDonald’s waiting for an order. The victim reaches into the truck, the video shows, and was shot.
Afterward, the suspect’s truck, described as a late-model red Dodge Ram 1500, sped away, appearing to run over the victim.

According to HPD, the incident was the culmination of two days of confrontations that began at a soccer game on Wednesday night. The two groups of teens are believed to be students at Aldine High School, police said.

HPD confirmed that the 17-year-old victim died at the scene. His name has not been released.
By 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, HPD had detained three persons of interest after stopping a car linked to the shooter’s truck at Tidwell and N. Wayside in northeast Houston.
